Bodmin

Bodmin and Bodmin Moor is an ideal base for your Cornish holiday or short-break.  Bodmin is just 30 minutes from the stunning north and south coast Cornish beaches and is the gateway to the traffic-free, walking and cycling route, the Camel Trail. The world-famous Eden Project is right on the doorstep aswell as two impressive houses, Pencarrow and the National Trust’s Lanhydrock.  Not to mention it is at the south-western edge of the windswept, undiscovered landscape that is Bodmin Moor with its granite tors, panoramic views, walking opportunities and rugged moorland villages.

A must see is the county prison that is now a museum open to the public. It was the first prison in the country to have separate cells rather than communal accommodation. Over the years there were 55 hangings in the prison, 51 of which were public. It was in fact the site of the last public hanging in Britain.
