Walking provides an interesting way to keep fit and also a good way to see Britain at its best with fascinating insights into the countryside, wildlilfe, and scenery.

If you are new to walking you can start off with just some good footwear and some waterproof clothing. Remember comfort first - fashion second.

Did you know most walks are graded, similar to ski runs. Things like terrain, height gain, distance and any equipment you may need are used to grade from Easy to Severe/Challenge Routes.

Lots of you will have a Holiday Home near the coast. The South West Coast provides one of the best places to walk and form the basis for many walks to suit all abilities and fitness levels.

Tourist Information Centres usually have details of local walks, but if you are into technology why not download the ifootpath app which gives you lots of information about local footpaths :- turn by turn maps; real time progress tracking; photos and a chance to add your own comments.

Why not check it out and let us know how you get on or recommend a favourite walk!

Thanks for your comment Richard. Hopefully, some of our customers at Beachside Holiday Park and Surf Bay Holiday Park will take advantage of your tip.
